Sticky Honey Garlic Butter Shrimp

  • Prepare the shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season them with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the cooked shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Add honey and soy sauce: Stir in the honey and soy sauce, stirring constantly until the honey has dissolved and the sauce is well combined.
  • Add butter and lemon juice: Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt into the sauce. Stir in the lemon juice. If you like a bit of heat, you can also add red pepper flakes at this point for some spice.
  • Return the shrimp to the skillet: Once the sauce has thickened slightly and everything is well combined, add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet. Toss the shrimp in the sauce until they are evenly coated.
  • Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley over the shrimp for garnish. Serve the sticky honey garlic butter shrimp immediately over cooked rice or noodles.
